Dress Code Socks

CA$9.00

Thick stripes, thin stripes, horizontal, vertical. These socks have it all for my fellow stripe lovers! Heck, why not throw a sweet cable down the heel too for a little fun. These were a really rewarding “design as you go” project for me. I just started knitting a comfy ribbed sock and decided to see where the stripes would take me. My original prototype was knit using a Sock Set with only 1 contrast colour, but when it came time to work up the official pattern sample you know I had to have a bit more fun with colour!

Pattern is written for cuff down with a gusset heel using magic loop.

Size
Adult S (M, L)
Finished measurements (unstretched): 18 (20.5, 23)cm / 7 (8, 9)” (stretches comfortably up to about 11 (12, 13)”circumference). Leg and Foot lengths vary depending on knitter’s preference.

Yarn
Tanis Fiber Arts PureWash Sock, 115g = 440 yds.
9 colour version used ½ skein of MC and about 3g of each of the contrasting colours. A perfect project for mini skeins or scraps from the stash! This pattern looks equally beautiful with a single contrast colour.

Gauge
32 sts & 42 rounds = 4” in 2x2 rib in the round after blocking.

Needles
2.25mm (US 1) 32” or 40” circular needles (pattern is written for magic loop), or same size DPN’s or tiny circular needles if that’s your preference, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Additional Tools and Materials
Tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers, cable needle unless cabling without a cable needle.

Pattern also available on Ravelry.
