Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty is one of our favourite kids books. The story is great but the thing that grabbed my attention from the very first time I laid eyes on it was the illustration by David Roberts. I became obsessed with Iggy’s sweater and immediately hatched a plan to recreate his iconic look in a sweater design that my whole family could wear. I couldn’t be happier with the cozy, graphic and cool results.

Sweater is steeked. You must be comfortable cutting your knitting to make this pattern. You can do it!

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) [7, 8, 9, 10, 11]

Finished sweater circumference at chest and hip: 22.75 (26, 29.25, 32.5, 39, 45.5) [52, 58.5, 65, 71.5, 78]”

Recommended ease: Choose a finished measurement with 4 - 15“ of positive ease.

MATERIALS

Kits include the following number of skeins of Highland DK by size:

MC - Natural : 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 4) [4, 6, 6, 7, 7]

CC - Charcoal or Yak : 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 3) [3, 4, 5, 5, 5]

Our Highland DK is a beautifully natural wooly wool yarn. This bouncy DK weight yarn is untreated and will felt (if that’s what you’re going for). It’s sticky and grippy and perfect for colourwork but also has beautiful stitch definition making it ideal for all your textured cabled knits too. Next to skin soft IMO (very personal preference) without compromising any of it’s natural wool characteristics. My new favourite yarn for sweaters.

Each skein is truly unique, there is variation between skeins even within the same batch. Embrace it! I highly recommend alternating skeins for larger projects.

Highland Wool DK:

• 100% Peruvian Highland Wool - merino/corriedale blend, untreated.

• 100 g (3.5 oz) = 246 yds (225 m)

• gauge: 5.5 sts per inch on 4mm (U.S. size 6) needle.
