Yarn: 3 skein Tanis Fiber Arts Orange Label Cashmere/Silk Worsted, 75% merino, 15% cashmere, 10% silk 115g (4oz) = 187m (205yds) sample shown in a one of a kind colourway very close to Atlantic.

Needles: 5mm (US 8) 32” circular or longer.
Gauge: 1 repeat of chart = 3.5” wide and 3” tall. Gauge is not crucial for this project as it does not have to fit, however variations in gauge will affect yardage requirements as well as finished dimensions.

I designed this baby blanket for my brother and his wife who are expecting their first baby! The first grandchild in our family, it deserves the very best, and what could be better than a lush, cozy blanket knit out of my Orange Label Cashmere/Silk Worsted weight yarn? This blanket features a really pretty wave and shell pattern that is framed by a generous garter stitch border. The lace motif blocks out beautifully for a good sized blanket, and the stitch pattern looks great from both the right side and the wrong side. Perfect for snuggling up with a newborn!
