Last weekend Chris and I tackled a little DIY project that has been on my to-do list for years! We have lived in our home for just over 4 years now. When we first moved in I was in no rush to do too much DIY-ing. The house was left in immaculate condition by the previous owners and I wanted to live in the space for a while before deciding what sorts of changes to make. But now, 4 years later, I really feel like it's about time that we put our stamp on each and every space. We're getting there, slowly but surely. I have this dream where one day I'll post photo's of finished rooms and I'll be super proud of them all. We're not there yet, but at least our guest room is now a bit more cheerful thanks to some cobalt paint and moulding! And bonus - it looks pretty great with my yellow ombre chair and my sunny yellow WIP!
For my TFA Shawls KAL project I'm working on a lovely laceweight shawl of my own design. I'm knitting it in my Buttercup colourway and it's really a very enjoyable knit. I'm sure that the bright, cheery colourway has a lot to do with why. I'm seriously considering casting on for another project to work on at the same time though. I know that I'll have this shawl finished a lot faster if I work on it monogamously, but that means that for the next little while you will be looking exclusively at photos of a big ol' blob of yellow. This won't look like anything until it's cast off and blocked - then it'll be magic! But in the meantime, it's nothing but rumpled up yellow laceweight. I guess things could be worse...
