Tin Can Knits has done it again! I've mentioned a few times that there were 2 patterns in particular that stood out for me from the latest collection from Tin Can Knits. The first was the Fly Away blanket and the second are the Rocky sweats, the worlds most adorable knit baby pants! I love the proportion of these pants. The shape and details make them look like retro joggers, and baby's in retro gear is totally adorable.
I love the short rows on the bum, and the fact that the pattern includes a note for making sure these pants will fit over my baby's giant cloth diapered behind. I knit the smallest size (size 0-6 months) and photographed them on Micah two days ago when he was just shy of 1 month. They are too big for him now, though at this age size doesn't really matter. They are quite stretchy and there is plenty of length in the leg so I'm hoping that these will fit over the summer and *fingers crossed* into the fall too. We do get some chilly days and nights in Nova Scotia (where we'll be spending a fair bit of time this summer) so hopefully he'll get to wear them a few more times before he outgrows them. I've already got plans for a second pair in the size up, which I'm assuming will fit him over the winter. My next pair will be in this handspun! I'm super pumped.
I added a wee duplicate stitch heart to the back of the button band. The simple stockinette is so perfect for adding special touches to these tiny pants.
