That last photo... not exactly what I would call a "pretty corner" of my office. Viewed as a whole this is usually what my office looks like. Messy. Chaotic. Lived in. But viewed as carefully cropped close ups of the details - it's a thing of beauty! With so many beautiful blogs, pinterest boards and instagram accounts out there that bombard us with overwhelming beauty every day it can be hard to remember that no one is perfect - not even those "perfect" scenes on pinterest! I always appreciated it when a favourite instagrammer will post a "real life" pic, makes them seem a little bit more human and I love them all the more for it.
Seems I'm not the only one looking for and finding beauty in the everyday things that surround us. I took these photos on Monday and then on Tuesday read this post from Julie. In this online age where we have so much access to other people's perfect internet lives we can get so caught up fawning over the fake lives we wish we had instead of relishing the perfectly flawed lives we do have.
My office is a mess, but I'm too busy playing with my babies (Rowan, Stella and Chris!) to mind.
ps: I've posted about pretty corners twice before (hence today's blog post title) maybe this will become a semi-regular thing. The first time is here and then more recently here. I'm lucky, it's easy to find beauty when you live in a technicolour yarn world like I do, but I think that I'm going to try and challenge myself to do this same exercise, finding beauty in everyday things, in the other spaces I live in. I think that you should try it too! I bet it'll definitely make you feel happy.
