My perfect future sweater

Ahhhh! Do you guys see that?! Are you as excited about it as I am? This is a v-neck cardigan I am designing and knitting for myself and I am just flying through it because I am obsessed with it. I knit all that you see there in one day. Insane right? Yes, totally.

I feel as though my blog has been a bit quiet lately. Maybe I just feel that way because last week I only blogged once, which is unusual for me. I don't have a blogging schedule and I almost never plan ahead what I will be blogging. Take today's post for example, I took this photo less than an hour ago and now here I am blogging it. I didn't wake up this morning thinking that was on the list of things to do today, I just blog when I feel like it and when I feel like I have something to share. So will-nilly right?

Well, that approach really seems to be working for me these days. I've taken the same approach with my knitting and I am having one of the most rewarding knitting moments of my life. I have knit more things that I am absolutely head over heels in love with then ever. I've definitely had periods in the past when I was knitting on things that I felt I should be knitting rather than working on things that I really wanted to be making. I think that a big part of that comes from being a designer. I always feel like I need to be working on a new design, which isn't a problem in and of itself because I've got loads of ideas that I feel passionate about, but it can be easy to fall into a trap where you only feel that your design work is valuable if you are doing something really different or really unusual. Then time passes and you snap out of it because hey, innovative is good, but you don't only want to knit unusual sweaters do you? The above sweater may not be the most creative in terms of technique or constructions (but wait! I've got a big surprise waiting in the wings for the sleeves!) but it is beautiful and will fit perfectly and is what I am really inspired by at the moment so I'm giving it my all!
