On me: A secret sweater pattern that will be released by the end of the month! Stay tuned. My sweater is knit in Lucky Penny. Full details to come. ;)

My main goal for my vacation knitting was to beef up Rowan's rather lackluster fall knits wardrobe. Last year he had a pretty impressive collection of hand knits to get him through the fall/winter/spring in Montreal, but very little of that will fit him throughout this next season so it was time to start planning ahead. First up on my list was a new Sunnyside baby sweater. This makes Rowan's 4th Sunnyside. He's had one in every size but 12-18 months, we kinda just skipped that size, but I'm not sure why. He had 2 teeny-tiny 3-6 months cardi's! Below is Rowan modelling his first 3 Sunnysides in Garnet, Moss (discontinued, but why? it's lovely, right?!) and Midnight. Clearly I've been favouring jewel tones for Rowan's Sunnysides.

Photographing a busy toddler in hand-knits in the middle of the summer is incredibly difficult. Hats off to Chris for managing to get at least a few of them more or less in focus.

Clearly, I love this sweater and don't have much to say that I haven't already said every other time I've blogged about it. It's my own design and is one that I'm really proud of because it's so simple but so elegant at the same time. This is the largest size the pattern comes in, but now that I have a growing toddler I'm starting to realize how quickly babies outgrow the standard 0-2 baby sizing system. Having my own little one has definitely made me think a bit differently about designing for little ones. It's not that I didn't realize that babies grow, it's just how fast they grow that I still can't believe! There is roughly 1 year between these photos and the shot up there of Rowan in his Midnight Sunnsyside, the difference is incredible! He's a boy now, barely a baby. Excuse me while I go sob!
